This program is not for beginners. Beginners, please contact Adult Education programs. These classes are free of charge. For Adult Education information in Palo Alto, call 650-329-3752. The EIA program matches Stanford's international graduate students, visiting scholars, post-doctorates, and spouses with an English-speaking community volunteer for one hour each week for one year.
The EIA program is accepting applications from internationals for the Spring term until April 30, 2013. After this date, new applications will be accepted for the Fall term between October 1 and November 15, 2013. There is no registration during the summer months. After you have completed and submitted your application, an EIA representative will contact you to schedule a brief interview. We will take into account your speaking skills and interests and match you with a conversation partner.
Sometimes we may not have enough volunteers, resulting in a delay in matching.
