The Community Committee for International Students has an English conversation practice program that matches American-English-speaking volunteers with Internationals who want to practice their English. The standard arrangment is for one hour of conversation per week, at a time mutually convenient, at a place of your choosing.
If you would like to request an English-In-Action volunteer to meet with you weekly, please fill out our application form.
Before we can match you with a partner, we need to have a brief
interview. It will help us better serve you. Please await the
matching volunteer's e-mail to suggest a time to meet for the interview.
If you would like to update or correct the application you gave us earlier, using your Client Key you received by email, please use our application update form. If you can't find your Client Key, email EIA at CCISstanfordU.org for help.
For more information about our programs, check out the rest of our web site by (for example) using the drop down list in the tool bar.
You may also call CCIS at 650-498-5252. There is usually a person to talk to between 10am and 1pm during the school year; otherwise, please leave a message and someone will get back to you.
